A different way to buy from Japan

Your eyes on the ground in Japan.

We do not need to push a yard full of our own stock. Osaka JDM Exports is built around searching Japan for vehicles that match each customer's request.

  • Dealer-lot and auction sourcing
  • Available photos, auction sheets and condition information
  • Buyer approval before purchase or bidding
  • Japanese-side documentation and export coordination
Why this model works

We search for the vehicle—not a buyer for the vehicle.

Instead of asking you to choose from whatever happens to be sitting in inventory, we start with your model, budget, condition, drivetrain and other preferences.

  • 01 Tell us your target
  • 02 We locate candidates in Japan
  • 03 You review the information
  • 04 You decide whether to proceed
Vehicles we can search for

Start with a model. We’ll search Japan.

These are model guides—not live inventory. Click any vehicle to see typical dimensions in metric and U.S. measurements, learn why buyers like it, and ask us to find one that matches your requirements.

Important: The images above are category/model examples. A vehicle is not represented as available for sale unless we specifically identify it as a current dealer or auction find.

U.S. Import Guide

Know the federal rules before we buy.

We help with the Japan-side sourcing and export process. U.S. federal import eligibility, Customs classification, and state title/registration are separate issues, so we encourage buyers to verify the exact vehicle before committing funds.

25Years

NHTSA safety exemption: a vehicle that is at least 25 years old may be imported without having to comply with all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The 25-year period runs from the vehicle's actual manufacture date.

Federal overview

Three agencies matter.

Buyer Guide
  • NHTSAThe 25-year safety exemption is based on manufacture date, not simply model year.
  • EPAEPA has separate emissions rules. Vehicles 21 years old or older can qualify under an age-based provision when the engine is in the original or equivalent configuration.
  • CBPStandard duty is generally 2.5% for automobiles and 25% for trucks, based on the price paid or payable; exact classification should be confirmed for the specific vehicle.
  • State rulesFederal importability does not automatically guarantee title, registration, or road-use eligibility in every state.
HS-7 / NHTSAFederal safety declaration used at import.
EPA 3520-1EPA declaration requirements depend on the vehicle and exemption used.
Customs EntryBill of Lading, invoice, export documents and broker filings are typically part of entry.
Shipping & Cost Guide

Clear costs before you commit.

Ocean freight changes with the vehicle's dimensions, sailing schedule, destination port and carrier. Rather than publish a price that may be outdated, we provide a current shipping quote for the actual vehicle before you approve the purchase.

Japan side

Inland Transport

Movement from the dealer or auction yard to the export yard or port, plus any required yard handling.

Quoted per vehicleDistance and pickup location affect the cost.
Ocean freight

RoRo Shipping

For many drivable kei trucks and cars, Roll-on/Roll-off shipping is the simplest ocean-freight option when service is available.

Live carrier quoteUsually calculated from vehicle dimensions / cubic metres and route.
Alternative

Container Shipping

Container service may be appropriate depending on destination, vehicle type, schedule, security needs and carrier availability.

Quoted by routeContainer, loading and destination charges vary significantly.

Quick shipping estimate

Ballpark Japan-to-US port costs for a typical kei vehicle. This is an estimate only — a confirmed quote is provided before purchase.

Ocean freight (RoRo, estimate)
Japan inland + yard (estimate)
Osaka JDM service fee$900
Export documentation (estimate)
Estimated Japan-to-US port total

This is a planning estimate only. Final ocean freight depends on the actual vehicle’s cubic metres, carrier rates and sailing schedule. U.S. Customs duty, broker fees, ISF filing, terminal charges, storage, domestic transport, taxes, title and registration are paid separately in the United States and are not included above.

U.S. destination costs are separate. U.S. Customs duty, broker fees, ISF/entry filing, terminal/port charges, storage, domestic transport, taxes, title and registration are not the same as Japan-side export or ocean-freight charges. We will show what is included in our quote and what is paid separately.
Transparent Pricing

Know what our service costs.

Our sourcing fee is separate from the vehicle and third-party transport/export costs, so you can see what you are paying for.

Third-party costs

Quoted Separately

  • Vehicle purchase price
  • Auction/dealer charges where applicable
  • Japan inland transport and yard handling
  • Export documentation
  • Ocean freight

We provide the known Japan-side costs before you approve the transaction.

At destination

U.S. Buyer Costs

  • Customs duty and broker fees
  • ISF/entry and terminal charges
  • Storage if incurred
  • Domestic transport
  • State title, registration and taxes

These are normally paid in the United States and are not part of the $900 service fee.

Payment & Buyer Confidence

No surprise purchase before your approval.

We keep the process staged so you can review the vehicle and written cost breakdown before funds are committed to a specific purchase or auction bid.

Step 01

Request & Search

Tell us the model, budget and requirements. We search for suitable candidates and share available information.

Step 02

Review & Approve

You review the candidate, known condition information and written cost breakdown. We do not purchase or bid without your approval.

Step 03

Invoice & Export

Payment instructions and the applicable invoice are provided for the approved transaction. After purchase, we coordinate Japan-side export documentation and shipping.

Payment safety: Always verify invoice details and payment instructions directly with Osaka JDM Exports before sending funds. We will never ask you to rely on changed banking instructions received only through an unexpected message.
About Osaka JDM Exports

Japan-based sourcing, built for overseas buyers.

Osaka JDM Exports is an owner-operated vehicle sourcing and export business based in Osaka, Japan. We do not build the business around pushing a yard full of owned inventory—we search Japan for the vehicle our customer actually wants.

Our focus is kei trucks, kei sports cars and select JDM vehicles, with the United States as our first major market. We search Japanese used-car dealers, auction channels and other legitimate sources, then share available photos, auction information, pricing and condition details so the buyer can decide whether a candidate is worth pursuing.

Because the business is based in Osaka, we are close to the Kansai vehicle market and major export routes through Osaka and Kobe. The same dealer visits, auction finds and walk-arounds we use for sourcing also become the real-world content we share on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X.

Our approach: tell us your target → we search → you review the candidate → you approve the purchase or bid → we coordinate the Japan-side export and shipping process. No pressure to buy a vehicle simply because we already own it.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask first.

Do you keep vehicles in inventory?

Our primary model is customer-request sourcing rather than maintaining a large owned inventory. We search Japanese dealers, auctions and other sources for vehicles that match your request.

What happens when you post a vehicle on social media?

Unless a post specifically says otherwise, a vehicle shown during a dealer or auction search should be treated as a current find or example—not as a vehicle owned by Osaka JDM Exports. Availability can change quickly, so we confirm it before discussing a purchase.

Can I ask you to find a specific model?

Yes. Give us as much detail as possible: model, year range, transmission, 2WD/4WD, mileage, condition, color, equipment, budget and destination.

Will I see photos or an auction sheet before buying?

We provide the information available from the source and, when available, auction sheets, listing photos and other condition information so you can review the candidate before proceeding.

Can you guarantee a vehicle can be registered in my U.S. state?

No. Federal import eligibility and state title/registration requirements are separate. Buyers should confirm their destination-state rules for the exact vehicle before purchase.

What is your service fee?

Our vehicle sourcing service fee is $900 per successfully sourced vehicle. Vehicle price, auction/dealer charges, inland transport, export documentation, ocean freight and destination-side costs are separate unless specifically included in your written quote.

When do I send money?

We first identify a suitable candidate and provide the available vehicle information and cost breakdown. You approve the vehicle and terms before we purchase or bid. Payment instructions are then provided for the approved transaction.

How do I get started?

Complete the search form below. It will prepare a detailed email with your requirements so we can start the conversation without requiring you to choose from pre-existing inventory.
